Kick Boxing/Mixed martial arts

My roommate, Mr Azim, apparently attended kick boxing classes a few years ago, this thus explains the high flying kicks he executes during futsal and his preferences to always use his legs as his main choice of arsenal.

Pre warm-up and stretching prior to the shoot

"Safety First"

I had to ask him real nicely and had to convince him that I will retouch the pictures to give him an " Arnold Schwazenger" look. Well sad to say this was the best I could retouch his pictures with.

Some high flying Kick in the A$$ shots to get the party rolling.

"This is how I face up to Microbiology workbooks" says Mr Azim

"This is how my PS3 beats your XBOX360" says Mr. Azim

"This pose is called "The Edward Cullen", it is my ultimate weapon to make girls fall for me" says Mr Azim.

Some light strobing  experiment which i tried out. I used a purple/white cardboard as a snoot and fired the flash at 1/2 power.

This two poses reminds me of Adam Lambert's CD cover, for some strange reason. I am not implying that this photo is gay, it's just a funny thought that popped out in my mind when i was viewing through the shots again.

Last but not least, Muscular hypertrophy!

That's it for this edition. Comments and critiques are welcomed as usual.

Muscle Museum

As you may notice i have often shot girls, Wee Phei Yee to be in particular, i have decided to change from my usual niche to a more masculine approach. Shooting topless males. No don't get me wrong I have not hopped on the dude train yet, but I think i might have a strong liking towards Ricky Martin now. *cough.

Neways back to the shoot. Model wanted to remain anonymous so we shall just call him Mr. A. I picked Mr a for 3 very simple reason out of my 3 other candidates.
a)he has no beer belly
b)he has some height
c)he is NOT so hairy.
Well to sum it all my first candidate bitched out on me and did not show up whereas my second candidate for this shoot was just too shy to strip, making me guess he must have some hairballs at his belly or probably he is really fat.

Im not as great as Mr. Keane at shooting a guy alone in a room showing of his muscles. But well here are the results.

To be honest my male model does not really have that much features to shoot on, cause he told me he has not been bulking up after getting married, hence the "after marriage belly syndrome"

But thank God he is not that "Buncit"

Back to musculoskeletal class, how many muscles can you name here..Heeheh

You wouldn't want to know how i positioned myself for this shot. Let's just say it is a little unorthodox.*cough

And lastly some man Boobs. Comment and critiques welcomed, tembak away!

Back Alley Shoot and Post Processing Practice

Headed to Kuantan a few days back to help Wee Phei Yee with some chores.
Decided to do a different theme this time from our usual "beach sunny theme" which we always do whenever I return to Kuantan.

Dabbled with a little abit of strobing with a homemade, Pringles tube snoot and flash gun positioning.

As you might notice in my previous shoots I NEVER post-process as I find it such a hassle and a waste of time, well guess what i am hooked on post processing, there are so many options in post processing that it is really worth the hassle and time.

This was by far the hardest picture to process, Wee Phei Yee had a really really red face at that time in the original shot, as it was really hot. Took me so long to process this picture as i did not want to lose too much detail in my post processing and at the same do not want to leave the picture too "unprocessed"

Shot all the pictures in RAW, and it is definitely better to post process RAW and there is minimal detail loss when you process your pictures in RAW. The downside though, RAW format is really RAW, the white balance, exposure and saturation are not recorded by this file format and all processing has to be done from scratch.

My post processing skills is still kinda bad, hence the bad images you see here I hope i did not make you choke on your coffee after seeing these images,

Overall there is still alot to learn in shooting in RAW.

Comments and criticisms are well welcomed, so tembak away la..
